It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the loss of
retired Officer Laurence “Russ” Russell #2137.
We recently learned he passed away on December 29, 2023.

Shit, I was just thinking about him today. I am sorry to hear about his passing. He was one of a kind.
Another one of the good guys.
Russ and I worked together on several projects and cases. He was always the “idea man”. It was my job to figure out which ideas were at all workable. He was always in constant motion. He will be missed.

Sad news. He was always so very nice and cheerful. My condolences.
I worked with Russ for several years in Street Crimes. He was the first officer (and probably the only officer)to have a VARDA alarm installed in a parking meter to try and catch some prolific thieves in the downtown area. We always had a good laugh together. Sorry to hear of his passing. RIP Russ.
