Aloha Leroy, I just heard from my old partner’s son Leo Plinski lll, that Leo Plinski badge 1215 had passed away he was coming up on 98yrs this December. He was known as the “Silver Fox” for his wavey silver hair and with the badge number of 1215 was the senior most officer on patrol for many years. He could out work any 3 25yr olds without breaking a sweat! He was the most prepared officer I ever knew or worked with, by the time we hit the streets for our 1st tour he had pre drawn every major intersection in case we got an accident at that location. I talked him into participating in the Police games in the Decathalon in the super senior division and he won! I went back to Georga several times to visit him and was always amazed at how quickly he jumped into his community. I have too many stories to tell about him, he will be forever in my heart and mind. Leo was a good man and great police officer.
He also loved German shepherds and bred quite a few champions.

When I was still a dispatcher back in the early 70’s Leo was working the Alameda area, B8 if I recall? We had a 5150 retired school teacher named Mrs. Ray living at 1245 Magnolia . She would call 25 to 50 times a day for one thing or another. Leo finally had had enough. He arrested her for 5150 and 415. Of course she was out before the end of the day. Leo couldn’t wait to come into communications to tell us all about it. We all had a great laugh. Rest in peace old friend.
Had no idea he was in Athens, Georgia all this time. Had been there a number of times in recent couple of decades. DEFINITELY would have stopped by! May his memory be eternal …. Great guy on the streets, back in the day of great policing times.
