nClaud Allen Furnare left this world from Moscow to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022. He loved Jesus and it showed from the moment he got up in the morning through the last prayer at night before bedtime. He was an avid Bible reader and student of the Bible, running several websites including ones with Spurgeon sermons, a Bible discussion board and more. He was known not just for his love of God, but also his humor and love of family. Claud, while taking on the appearance — and often the hobbies — of a mountain man, and he had a big heart. He was sincere in his care and compassion for people, and this extended to those he met throughout his journeys in life, not just his family and friends.nnHe served almost 30 years at San Jose Police Department (SJPD) as a Patrol Officer. This included many years as a detective and working other specialized assignments. The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always Win – there is no such thing as a fair fight. Always Win – cheat if necessary. Always Win – 2nd place doesn’t count.nnH.) Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets … you may get killed with your own gun, but they’ll have to beat you to death with it because it will be empty.nnI.) If you’re in a gun fight:nn(a) If you’re not shooting, you should be reloading.nn(b) If you’re not reloading, you should be moving.nn(c) If you’re not moving, you’re dead.nnJ.) In a life and death situation, do something … it may be wrong, but do something!nnK.) If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?nnL.) Never fire a warning shot, that is just one wasted bullet, which could be needed within moments.nnM.) You can say “stop” or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone’s head is pretty much a universal language; and, you won’t have to press 1 for Spanish/Mexican, or 2 for Chinese, or 3 for Arabic.nnN.) Never leave a wounded enemy behind. If you have to shoot, shoot to kill. In court, yours will be the only testimony.nnO.)
