RE: DON HALE

I called Don to wish him the best. Reminisced over old pistol team days and found him to be lucid. The call went through the front desk so approval is required.

if you are so inclined, and you have some connection, I am sure he would like to hear from you. Call (408) 248-7100.

PS; I teared up saying goodbye. We have lost so many…

    1. I have visited with Don twice recently the last time was Tuesday June 24th. He was lucid and knew me. We talked about some current events I made him aware of, and of course ole times. He displayed some of that humor he’s known for. He also showed some confusion, though he was in good spirits. Gloria is trying all she can to get Don into better circumstances. Gloria would appreciate and in courage visits with Don.

  1. I saw Don Wednesday afternoon. The facility is having some repairs inside so watch your step. He shares the room but does have the window by his bed.
He gave a big smile and turned down his TV as I arrived. We talked about old days and family, how life is so different from when we started the academy in ‘73.

Don smiled as he pointed to a large photo printed blanket tacked to the bathroom door, pictures of Gloria and him ….he loves her very much
I wished him well and hope to see him back on his feet soon.
He was smiling as we shook hands goodbye

  2. Yep. Went by to visit Don, earlier today … Thursday, 26 June …. roughly 1130-1230. Hadn’t seen any of these earlier comments at that time, and had on idea anyone had been by, yet. We had a fun visit. That photo blanket on the wall DOES catch your eye, for sure. He has a guest book to sign while you are there to visit – presumably put there by his wife.
Hoping the best for Don, and that he has many good years remaining, to keep mixing it up with visitors.
P.S. Be sure to wear a nice shirt and have your hair combed when you arrive to visit. The visitor check-in process includes management taking a photo of you, and entering a few other personal contact items into their computer …. “It’s a new world.” Xa xa xa xa.
