Dear Brothers in Blue,
Don is currently residing at Creekside Post-Acute, a skilled nursing facility located at 3580 Payne Avenue, San Jose, CA 95117. We are hoping the VA system will facilitate his transfer to a more suitable care facility in the near future. He would greatly appreciate a visit while he is still in San Jose.
Don is in Room 310, and visiting hours are daily from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. He is experiencing severe dementia, and his condition varies from day to day. As I am unable to visit him regularly, I would be very grateful if any of his friends from the police force could visit him and share stories from the past to lift his spirits.
Next week, God willing, we will be celebrating our 42nd anniversary. Don was a loving and hands-on caregiver to me for 15 of my 17-year battle with ALS and continues to be my primary caregiverdespite his own affliction.
I understand how busy life is for everyone, but if you are able to visit Don, your moral support during this time would be deeply appreciated.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families as you navigate through your own treacherous waters.
Sincerely,
Gloria Hale
Gloria, I am praying for you and Don. Dementia is horrible, but with God in us and for us you both will persevere.
Don and you are such good friends to us. Before Ron’s passing this past February, we were going to try and visit you both. We love you both. God’s grace, Elizabeth Goates
