Those of you who live in California and own guns know that to purchase ammunition, you have to pay the vendor an extra $1.00 for a background check. Effective July 1, 2025, that fee will increase to $5.00. That means every time you make an ammunition purchase, a new background check has to be done. If you purchase a box of bullets today, a background check is mandatory. If you go back tomorrow to purchase another box, you’ve got it, another background check is mandatory, and another fee must be paid.
A background check to purchase ammo, in my opinion, is a violation of the Second Amendment, but who am I?
