Hollywood Loved Lenny’s Frozen YogurtShelby read her phone screen. The text from her celebrity friend said “Be there soon!” Two minutes later, Jackie breezed into the yogurt shop. All heads turned. The EGOT winner smiled and made eye contact with everyone like they were old friends. “You’re unbelievable, Jackie. Even after winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony, you’re still humble. No wonder Hollywood can’t hate you.” “I guess.” “How many EGOT winners are there, anyway?” “Eight, but none of them ever won Lenny’s Customer of the Month.” She waved her free yogurt card all around. “Suck it, EGOT losers!” Finally, the humility ran out. NOVEL NEWS & NOTES… Since I don’t have a lot of news on my novel (just finishing up the scene analyzing), I thought I’d share something else that’s related to my flash fiction writing. A few weeks ago, I directed a short film based on one of my 101-word tales. Since the script was just over a single page, we were able to shoot it all in one evening in Monterey. A talented actor friend of mine put the whole project together, and our little team had a lot of fun making what I think will be a pretty entertaining three-minute movie. I even gave myself a Hitchcock moment as an Uber driver. When the film hits the film festival circuit, I’ll let you know about possible upcoming screenings. Here are a few pics/storyboards from the film which is called The Nightcap, based on my short story, Unfortunately, Not Everybody’s a Baseball Fan, from FAST FICTION, Vol. 1.
