Attached is a just released notice from the Peace Officer’s Research Association of California (PORAC) regarding the passage of the Social Security Fairness Act (H.R. 82) by the U.S. Senate and now awaits the President’s signature.
PORAC notes the following:
“(it) will finally repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset
(GPO) – federal provisions that have unfairly prevented millions of peace officers, teachers,
firefighters, and other public servants from collecting their earned Social Security
benefits for over 40 years.
